The Association for Development of Protected Areas (ADAP), a Swiss based Non Governmental Organisation, implements its new project “in the northern part of the Selous – Niassa Wildlife Corridor with financial assistance of the Geneva Federation for Co-operation. With the SNBSP project ADAP promotes and supports alternative income generation activities in the in Mbarang’andu Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Namtumbo district and NALIKA WMA in Tunduru district through development of modern beekeeping and agroforestry practices so as to contribute to the reduction of illegal use of natural resources and destructive forest fires. ADAP supports the two district councils, two community based organisations, project villages and beekeepers’ groups in terms of capacity building through training programmes, assistance in marketing of bee-products, construction of CBOs’ offices, purchase of office equipment, motorcycles and field equipment for district Beekeeping Officers, procurement of bicycles for village game scouts of all project villages and support of community activities.
